Democracy took center stage in Ghana in the 19th century and sequentially gave rise to the resistance to oppression by movements and activist groups who championed the freedom of the everyday Ghanaian.
Arguably, some of these forces that reckoned against ‘rulers’ in the ’60s either did so genuinely for the emancipation or parochially to satisfy their egotistic desires and enrich their generations only_ inadvertently owning the state for the foreseeable future.
Several decades now, we are suffering the fate of the latter’s cunning ways to persuade the Ghanaian to accept their methods, however damning they might be, under the guise of accolades, fanciful promises and unrealistic policies. There has been the collateralization of our mineral resources, debt servicing by leveraging our natural resources, profligacy and wastage of taxes, narrowed fiscal space with ballooning debts etc.
Every administration has had somewhat of a shortfall while in Government but considering the skyrocketing inflation rates against the backdrop of the extreme hardship then I can confidently say that fallen stars need no outshining.
Leaders can be born or made but when they’re born and made, they cease to lead, they serve. John Mahama has been that freezingly cold icing on the cake who seeks out for the good of the everyday Ghanaian irrespective of creed, ethnic group, educational status, wealth and even political affiliation.
18plus4NDC sets out a vision that identifies future leaders within the NDC and Ghana at large, bring them foth and make them suitable representations of our exemplary icons for societies and the country as a whole.
You will be birthed and made to serve! Let’s build a formidable front to a prosperous Ghana, together.
Welcome to the NDC!
